Then, Dr. Ava Khodakhast, our skilled and experienced dentist, will start the treatment with a laser that is inserted between the gums and teeth to remove bacteria from below the gum line without damaging healthy tissue or bone.
Finally, we will use an ultrasonic instrument to gently clean up any remaining plaque, followed by a second pass of the laser, which seals off the pocket. This helps reduce swelling and inflammation, which increases patient comfort throughout the healing process. We will also make sure to use a topical antibiotic ointment or gel to help prevent infection from occurring afterward.
